When your multigrain bread is golden on one side just flip the sandwich to the other side, continue cooking uncovered until the other side is golden. You can cut them diagonally into two triangles. You can have your own version of the grilled cheese sandwich and add some ham if you desire and I am sure you will have an awesome healthy diet snack.
My other recipe is a classic and everybody calls it grilled cheese and fruit sandwich and this is my favorite among all sandwiches in the world. The ingredients and the procedure are likely the same. You just need to have jam like fig, plum or strawberry. And as an alternative to smearing mustard on one side of the sliced bread, just spread the sliced bread with the jam and follow the same direction.
